Delhi assembly elections: Exit polls give majority to AAP, BJP second and Congress a distant third

New Delhi: Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party is likely to get a clear majority and form the next government in Delhi according to the exit polls conducted by major news organisation. All exit polls are predicting that AAP will easily cross the halfway mark of 35 in the 70-member Delhi Assembly, voting for which took place on Saturday.

According to the exit poll conducted by India Today-Cicero, the AAP will easily get majority in Delhi Assembly. The exit poll gives 38-46 seats to AAP with 42 per cent votes, 19-27 seats to BJP with 36 per cent of votes while Congress is facing another rout and is likely to get only 3 to 5 seats with only 15 per cent of total vote share.

The India TV-C Voter exit poll has given 35-43 seats to AAP after it predicts 43 per cent vote share for the party, 25-33 seats to BJP with 40 per cent of votes and only 0-2 seats to Congress with just 11 per cent vote. As per this poll others are expected to bag just two seats.

Times Now which also conducted the exit poll with C Voter, too, has given the edge to AAP with 31-39 seats and 42 per cent votes. BJP will end second with 27-35 seats and 40 per cent votes and Congress will end up with just 11 per cent of the vote share which may fetch only 2-4 seats to the party.

The ABP News-Nielsen exit poll for Delhi gave a clear majority to AAP with 43 seats and 41 per cent votes and restricted BJP at 26 with 34 per cent votes leaving only one seat for Congress with 15 per cent votes.

The News24-Today's Chanakya exit polls denied any seat to Congress giving 48 of the 70 assembly seats to AAP with 43 per cent votes while other 22 seats to BJP with 37 per cent of total vote share.

Predicting a landslide victory for AAP India News-Axis exit poll gave it 53 seats with 49 per cent of total vote share and while forecasted only 17 seats with 34 per cent of votes for BJP and two seats for Congress.

News Nation also gave a majority figure to AAP with 41-45 seats and 47 per cent of total vote share, BJP 23-27 seats with 39 per cent vote share and Congress only 1-3 seats with 11 per cent votes. The others are also expected to bag two assembly seats.

In the 2013 Assembly elections, BJP and its allies got 32 seats, AAP 28 and Congress 8, JDU and Independent one each.
