New Delhi: Suspended IAS officer from Gujarat Pradeep Sharma on Saturday moved a notice in the Supreme Court asking for the CBI probe into the tapes which allegedly showed that Gujarat government used state police to conduct surveillance on a woman.
Sharma alleged that the surveillance was carried out at the behest of Chief Minister and BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi because he feared that the woman knew him. The father of the girl has meanwhile asked for a stop to probes.
Meanwhile, IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt had also written to the chief minister raising questions about why his security has been weakened.
Modi's key aide and former Gujarat minister Amit Shah has been accused of snooping on a young woman using state machinery in 2009 in Bangalore.
A Cobrapost-Gulail report claimed to have accessed taped conversations which are in the CBI's possession, which claimed that Amit Shah ordered police surveillance of a woman, allegedly on the orders of a certain 'saheb'.
