If reports are to be believed, Nawazuddin Siddiqui is being offered the roles that were once offered to Irrfan Khan. The Karwaan actor passed away in April 2020. The actor battled with neuroendocrine cancer for two years before he lost the fight in 2020. His last appearance was in March 2020, which was the sequel of Angrezi Medium (2020). While cinepiles and filmmakers miss him on screen, it is claimed that producers are reaching out to Nawazuddin with projects that once were envision with Irrfan in the heart of it.
A source told Navbharat Times, “It seems like the industry has found someone who can match the persona of the late Irrfan Khan, and it’s none other than Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Film production houses are considering Nawazuddin for roles that would have previously been offered to Irrfan Khan.”
Nawazuddin and Irrfan have worked together in a few films together. These include The Lunchbox, Paan Singh Tomar, New York, The Bypass, and Aaja Nachle. In the films, they shared some of the most memorable scenes together. Meanwhile, Nawazuddin has a few projects in the pipeline as well. The actor will be seen in Adbhut, which has been directed by Sabbir Khan. The film is set to release next month, on September 15. The film will release on Sony Max, marking it as a Sony Max Original release.
Taking to his Instagram handle, Nawazuddin shared a look poster in which he is seen wearing a coat, with long hair, and holding a magnifying glass. He further wrote in the caption, “Watch the mystery unravel in the most shocking film of the year! Trailer drops tomorrow 12 PM!” As soon as she shared the poster, fans reacted. One of the fans wrote, “He moves up a notch in every film he makes, he has a real star shine.” Another wrote, “Super.”
