BANGALORE: With the completion of the inventory list of properties at the Trayee Brindavan, Brindavan Ashram of the Satya Sai Baba Ashram near Kadugodi in Bangalore, the Satya Sai Central Trust has completed the process of preparing inventory of all its ashrams' properties.
Trust media coordinator Prof A Anantharaman on Wednesday said that the Trust found 6.09 kg of gold in the form of Thali bottus, coins and chains, 245.368 kg of silver in the form of idols, dinnerware, pooja articles and medallions and `80,50,500 in cash at Trayee Brindavan. The cash found in the Brindavan was deposited with the Canara Bank, Kadugodi branch.Incidentally, the Satya Sai Baba used to stay at Trayee Brindavan whenever he visited the Brindavan ashram in Bangalore.
Expressing ignorance about the details of the inventories made at Prashanthi Nilayam in Puttaparthi on July 18 and 19, Anantharaman said, "The Trust has paid a tax of `4.81 crore based on the value of the inventory done on July 18 and 19 and will very soon pay the wealth tax based on the inventory prepared today. The exercise was a voluntary exercise to ensure that all of the ashram's wealth is put to proper use and ensure that those who handle them are made accountable."Refusing to estimate the total worth of the properties held by the Trust, Anantharaman said, "Apart from the items enlisted in the inventories prepared till now, the Trust holds a lands and other immovable properties. The trust is running two huge hospitals at Puttaparthi and Bangalore, and five university campuses. Food, medical aid and education is being provided free of cost in these institutions. Any commercial value cannot be affixed to these properties."
