The doctor broke down the amount of time spent by an average professional in work and other errands. He further said that dedicating so much time into work could possibly be one of the reasons for a surge in heart attacks among youth.

“Not to mention companies expect people to answer emails and calls after work hours also. Then wonder why young people are getting #Heartattacks?!” the doctor wrote.

Here, have a look for yourself:

The post, since being uploaded, has gathered multiple responses and gone viral. “Agreed, 100%. Life is much more than work. Folks whose role is largely just decision making & closing deals over dinners & golf sessions will support #70hours. People who have to actually grind and put in the mechanical work would never agree. Imagine spending your entire adult life without creating any art, exploring new culture, making memories with friends and family,” commented an ‘X’ user. Another person wrote, “So true. Sadly, a lot of the people who are at the leadership positions think people should not have life outside work. These are also the companies that will not think twice about replacing these hard-working zombies the minute productivity reduces.”

Narayana Murthy, during his conversation, said, “India’s work productivity is one of the lowest in the world. Unless we improve our work productivity, unless we reduce corruption in the government at some level, because we have been reading I don’t know the truth of it, unless we reduce the delays in our bureaucracy in taking this decision, we will not be able to compete with those countries that have made tremendous progress.” Further, he added, “This is my country. I would like to work 70 hours a week.”
