Balrampur: A day after Sonia Gandhi made a veiled attack on BJP and Team Anna over corruption, BJP leader Rajnath Singh on Thursday said the Congress chief is silent on 2G, CWG and other scams plaguing the UPA government and only making statements against social activist Anna Hazare.
"Gandhi says nothing on 2G, CWG and other scams, while discharges her duties merely by uttering some words against Hazare," Singh told reporters in Balrampur.
In a public gathering at Uttarakhand on Wednesday, Gandhi had said corruption cannot be eradicated by mere slogans and those creating "hue and cry" should look within, a remark which has sparked a political slugfest between Congress and BJP over the issue of corruption.
On the issue of trifurcation of Uttar Pradesh, Singh said his party was not in favour of creating smaller states in a hurry.
"Action in this regard needed to be taken as per the report of state reorganisation committee," he said.
Opposing reservation for Muslims, he said, "Reservation on the basis of religion would damage communal harmony."
