Actor Shahid Kapoor, a father of two (Misha and Zain), had a unique experience recently. Despite his long acting career, his kids had never seen him in a movie until they watched him in Imtiaz Ali’s Jab We Met, which was re-released in theaters. Shahid revealed that his wife Mira Rajput had frequently suggested taking the kids to watch one of his films, but they hadn’t settled on one until this recent outing.
The actor, during a conversation with Pinkvilla, shared that the film left his son Zain shocked! He recalled, “So for the longest time, Mira would ask me, ‘What movie of yours should I show the kids?’ And I would be like, ‘Not a single one.’ Some are not good and the ones that are good are not meant for kids. So the first film they saw of mine and they actually went to the theatre was Jab We Met. Mira and my mom made this plan that finally there is this one film that we can show the kids. They went and watched Jab We Met in the theatre. My son came back and he looked at me and said, ‘Papa, that is how you look without a beard?’”
Jab We Met, featuring Kareena Kapoor alongside Shahid Kapoor, stands as one of Shahid’s most successful films. During a recent interview with the same publication, Shahid acknowledged that Kareena had the stronger role in the movie. Despite this, he chose to go ahead with the film. Speaking of it, he said, “When I heard the script, I completely loved it. I didn’t have the strongest part. I knew the female part was the strongest part in the film, still, I wanted to be a part of the film.”
Jab We Met remains one of Shahid’s most successful films.
