Khichdi 2 Box Office: The Parekh Family Comedy Mints Rs 1.10 Crore Despite Limited Screens

Comedy and Khichdi are inseparable companions! The Parekh family, known for spreading laughter for years, made a comeback after 13 years with a bang in their latest adventure, “Mission Paanthukistan.” Fans have been excited and curious about Paanthukistan ever since the teaser was unveiled and finally the film saw a limited release on Friday. Despite that, the film managed to mint Rs 1.10 crore on its first day.

Giving details about the box office numbers, reputed trade analyst Taran Adarsh informed the netizen through his social media handles, “With strategic theatrical release at limited screens, #Khichdi2 has fared well on Day 1… #Gujarat has performed best… Fri ₹ 1.10 cr. #India biz. #Boxoffice.”

Talking about his role, Rajeev Mehta who is playing double role as Praful previously shared, “Audiences have always shown immense love for my character, Praful. In fact, whenever I attend events or functions, people come to me as Praful, and it warms my heart. That’s why this time, we decided to give my fans a double treat. I’ll be playing both Praful and Shahenshah Kimam Khaketukh. Switching between these two characters wasn’t easy; many times, I found myself speaking like Praful while dressed as the Shahenshah but it was a blast playing both roles. I’m confident that the audience will burst into laughter watching Khichdi 2.”

Written and directed by Aatish Kapadia, and produced by Jamnadas Majethia (JD), Hats Off Productions, this film takes you on a wild ride exploring the quirky dynamics of the Parekh family. Supriya Pathak Kapoor, Jamnadas Majethia (JD), Rajeev Mehta, Anang Desai, Vandana Pathak, and Kirti Kulhari deliver performances that promise non-stop laughter.

The trailer revealed that the Parekh family lands in Paanthukistan where they find out that the King of the land is a doppelganger of Praful. Looking at it as an opportunity, the family decides to bring about a change to the village while also making the best for themselves. Praful undergoes a makeover and steps in for the king. It is then that the madness unfolds.
