The local train network of Mumbai is called the lifeline of the city. With the huge number of passengers in the trains everyday, it is common to stumble upon arguments and fights in the coaches. It is not just the common man, but apparently celebrities are also having to face the brunt of it now. Marathi television actress Ashwini Kasar recently had a harrowing experience while travelling in a local train. She was allegedly harassed and even physically assaulted by another female passenger in the coach. In local trains, people often sit and rest their feet on the opposite bench, provided it is empty. A woman who was sitting across Ashwini Kasar in the train was sitting the same way, with her feet on the seat just adjacent to the actress.Ashwini Kasa felt uncomfortable and requested the woman to remove her feet from the seat, but she did not comply which resulted in a heated argument. Ashwini said that the woman even kicked her and abused her when she retaliated in Marathi. According to Ashwini Kasa, she was not even allowed to speak in her native language.
Ashwini made a video of the incident and posted it to her Instagram stories. In her post, she said, “I do not know the name of this woman. On the train, she wanted to sit with her feet in front of me. When I refused, I was kicked. She had a problem with me using Marathi during the argument. Even after realising that I am a public figure, I was threatened. I have complete faith in the Mumbai Police and Railway Police.” She tagged Mumbai Police and Railway Police in the story and demanded justice for herself.
s Ashwini Kasar is well known for appearing in theatrical plays as well as serials on the small screen. She rose to fame with the serial Savitri Jyoti. Her other famous serials include Kamala and Katti Batti.
