After months of speculation, actor Daniel Craig's comeback as James Bond for a fifth and final 007 movie has been confirmed. Having reportedly earned 37 million pounds for the last Bond film Spectre, Craig is once again set to get a mammoth pay package for his role as the popular MI6 agent in the 25th installment of the franchise.
According to a report in Mirror, Craig will pocket a cool 50 million pounds for a new movie. The film is likely to run for around two hours and 20 minutes, which would mean the 50-year-old star banking 3,57,000 pounds per minute of screen time. Woah!
Craig will start five months of filming in December, ahead of a planned release in autumn next year. Meanwhile, Danny Boyle, who won the best director Oscar in 2009 for Slumdog Millionaire, has been roped in to direct the series’s latest installment.
“We are delighted to announce that the exceptionally talented Danny Boyle will be directing Daniel Craig in his fifth outing as James Bond. We will begin shooting Bond 25 at Pinewood Studios in December with our partners at MGM and are thrilled that Universal will be our international distributor,” Eon’s Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli said in a statement on Friday.
