KOCHI: Forum Kerala, an internet fraternity of Malayalm movie lovers, announced the winners of Deepak Memorial Short Film Competition. ‘Yesterday’ directed by Shibu B S won the award in the Best Film category.Shibu also won the award for the best director.‘Yesterday’ dealt with the insecurities experienced by the girls in society.Shibu is working with ‘The New Indian Express’ as a senior reporter. ‘Pepper and the Orchid’ by Rohit, ‘Oru Cinema Katha Pole’ by Marattu won the second place. Shivakumar, Abhirami Suresh, Eldose were selected as best actors for their performances in ‘Pepper and Orchid’, ‘Yesterday’ and ‘Mangalore History’ respectively.Krishna Kumar (Yesterday) won the award for the best scriptwriter. Don Wincent, Shiva, Pap won the awards for background music, editing and camera for ‘Yesterday’. Best director, actor and scriptwriter will receive an award worth Rs. 10,000.
