The release of the much-awaited Deadpool & Wolverine is just around the corner. The superhero film will have Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman reprising their roles as Marvel characters Deadpool and Wolverine. Ever since the film was announced, there have been speculations about the plotline and special appearances in the movie. Since the film will have Wolverine returning to the big screen after his character death in the 2017 film Logan, fans have theorised that Deadpool 3 may see appearances from different Marvel characters.
Even though the filmmakers are tight-lipped about any possible cameos and appearances, many are betting that Laura or X-23, played by actor Dafne Keen, will once again share the screen with her on-screen father Wolverine (Hugh Jackman). If that happens, the film will serve as an added treat for the X-Men fans who have not seen their favourite characters return to the big screen ever since the Wolverine trilogy concluded with Logan.
Keen is currently promoting her upcoming science fiction TV series Star Wars: The Acolyte. In an interview with ComicBook, the 19-year-old actor spoke about how she feels about reprising her X-Men role in other Marvel films. She said, “What goes through your head is, first of all, how cool that something is that big that if seeps and it bleeds into other projects, and how cool it is that I got to be a part of something that had such a huge legacy that almost 10 years later I’m still being asked about and that just feels pretty huge.”
In the months leading to the release of Deadpool 3, there were many unsubstantiated rumours about the appearance of Marvel characters in the upcoming film. Back in April, many Marvel fan accounts claimed that Jessica Alba, known for her role as Sue Storm in the early Fantastic Four films, will feature in Deadpool & Wolverine.
Back in December, eagle-eyed fans noticed that a figure who resembles actor Ray Park was spotted in the fast-paced trailer of Deadpool & Wolverine. Park, who has played Toad in X-Men, commented on an Instagram post that claimed to have spotted him in the film’s trailer and wrote, “I am in Deadpool And Wolverine? Lol must have kidnapped me in my sleep.”
It will be interesting to see how many fan theories and guesses come true when Deadpool And Wolverine hits the theatres on July 26.
