TIRUMALA: The Specified Authority of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams has decided to issue the cancelled bulk booking Arjita Seva tickets through current booking. The tickets, which were cancelled after the ticket scam came to light sometime ago, had been booked by influential persons and others for the next 50 years and they would now be sold as per schedule every month. Three hundred tickets will be released for sale through current booking next month.It was also decided to further study the report submitted on Sri Seva before going ahead with decision. Disclosing this to mediapersons during a briefing on the major decisions taken by the TTD Specified Authority at a meeting held here on Monday, chairman J Satyanarayana said the devasthanam would dispose of the 15 tonnes of accumulated silver offerings of the devotees to the Lord thorough e-auction in a phased manner. In the first phase, 3 tonnes of silver will be sold as per the recommendations of the Jagannatha and Wadhwa Committees. Former executive officer APVN Sharma and former DGP R Prabhakar Rao will monitor the e-auctioning for transparency. The Vendi Vakili will be renovated as the silver-plating on the massive doors peeled off at several places. Already, donations for the purpose were received by the TTD.Considering the future requirements of Tirumala till 2025, the TTD, the chief custodian of the famous hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara on Tirumala, will prepare a town plan. The executive officer and others are working on it and it is likely to be tabled at the next meeting of the authority.Satyanarayana said another important decision taken was to implement GO MS No 3 which enables the 7000-odd outsourcing employees of TTD to get higher wages. Though it puts an additional burden of Rs 20 To Rs 25 crore per annum on the TTD, it was decided to implement the GO. TTDSA chairman also said that it was resolved to liberalise the rules pertaining to the construction of Venkateswara temples in SC, ST colonies.
