Mumbai: Actor Sanjay Dutt who was granted 14-day medical leave from Yerwada Central Jail, has reportedly asked for another 14-day extension. He says he needs more time for the treatment of his leg and with his family.
The authorities are yet to confirm his extension. Sanjay Dutt stepped out of the Yerwada Jail on October 1 after being granted a 14-days furlough for the treatment of his leg.
The Yerwada prison authorities have cancelled a play that Sanjay Dutt was supposed to participate in. A furlough is leave of absence from prison granted to a prisoner by the jail authorities and differs from a parole that is granted by the court.
Sanjay Dutt was convicted for possessing illegal arms. He is serving a 42-month sentence for his role in the 1993 Mumbai blasts.
