Kolkata’s Zainab Sayeed has achieved a remarkable distinction in the UPSC Civil Services Examination, securing the highest interview score in the past eight years. In 2014, Zainab scored an impressive 220 out of 275 in the interview round, along with 731 marks in the mains, earning her an overall rank of 107. Despite facing multiple setbacks, including failing the preliminary exams in her earlier attempts, Zainab’s perseverance and determination paid off as she cleared the exam on her third try. Her journey is a testament to resilience and hard work in the face of challenges.
During the interview, Zainab impressed the panel with her knowledge and confidence, addressing a range of topics such as current affairs and international relations. She also shared that she prefers the vibrant culture of Kolkata to that of Delhi.
When asked about the author of a particular poem, she openly admitted that she did not know the answer, which underlined her honesty and sincerity.
Zainab completed her graduation in English Literature from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata and later pursued postgraduate studies in Mass Communication from Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi. After completing her studies, she devoted herself to preparing for the UPSC exams and through dedication and hard work, she achieved remarkable success.
Similarly, IAS officer Tina Dabi has been in the headlines ever since she topped the UPSC exam in 2015. She is again in the headlines as her UPSC exam marksheet has gone viral. Tina Dabi scored a total of 1063 marks out of 2025 marks in the UPSC exam.
According to this, her percentage was 52.49. She scored 145 marks in the essay, 119 in GS first paper, 84 in GS second paper, 111 in GS third paper, 110 in GS fourth paper, 128 in Political Science Paper 1 and 171 in Political Science Paper 2. She secured 195 marks out of 275 in the UPSC interview. Indian Administrative Officer, Tina Dabi, has taken the responsibility of the new collector of the Barmer district of Rajasthan for the second time.
Though 100 Indian Administrative Service officers were transferred marking a significant shift in Rajasthan’s governance, among them she is the one. She is one of the most addressed officers in the country.
