Chocolate Idli With Strawberry Jam And Mango Syrup Leaves Internet Disgusted
The video from the streets of Bengaluru shows the vendor preparing the plate of chocolate idlis with a glaze of strawberry jam, mango syrup and lychee spread.

Strawberries and chocolate combos are among the classic dessert options, creating a delicious blend of sweetness. However, ever wondered what the addition of idlis could do to them? Experimenting with food items has become a very common phenomenon nowadays, with individuals as well as street vendors making equal contributions. Be it a gulab jamun dosa, tomato ice cream, chocolate omelette, Maggi milkshake, or momo chai, there’s no end to such bizarre combinations. One such deadly combination of strawberry, chocolate, and the South Indian staple idli has left internet users puzzled.

A food vlogger, Amar Sirohi, shared a video of this weird dish being served on the streets of Bengaluru. Going by the video, the vendor basically sends chocolate-filled idlis with a glaze of strawberry jam, mango syrup and lychee spread. To top it up, he also drizzles a bit of chocolate syrup and colourful sprinkles before serving it with a cup of strawberry ice cream.

The overall plate comes for a cost of Rs 100.

“I haven’t eaten any worse than this in Bengaluru. This is a very bad joke with idlis. It tastes salty, sweet, and sour at the same time,” Sirohi said after having a bite of the dish. In his caption, he added, “WEIRDEST Idli of South India.”

Social media users instantly thronged to the comment section and called out the bizarre dish. A user wrote, “Justice for Idli,” while another added, “Gun powder ke jagah sprinkler was Epic.”

“Idli is crying in the corner. Its combination is with coconut chutney or sambar. These days in Bangalore everything is an experiment,” a comment read. Another user took a jibe at it and noted, “If people do virtually kill people then this reel is it!!!.”

Shared in August this year, the video has already garnered over 2 million views on Instagram. Well, this is not the only idli variation that has gone viral. One of the most unexpected combinations came with idli ice cream, where a vendor prepared ice cream by mixing idli and sambar.
