Every year, Holy Ramzan presents unforgettable and innumerable blessings to humanity. The aim of Ramzan is to exchange mutual kindness and goodwill and to create a magnanimous society. Every businessman is supposed to make himself fit to understand the message of Ramzan that is glorified during this period.
This period makes all realise that we have one and the same feeling. Irrespective of one’s status, whoever observes the holy fast, all are gainers.
Businessmen are those supplying goods to one and all irrespective of caste or creed. “Whoever approaches you asking for anything, don’t evade them,” says the Holy Quran (93:10). Ramzan prompts us to give the needy what they need. If it is not possible, at least console them with kind words, says the Holy Quran.
One who does not avoid evil words and just rejects food and water while observing a fast is not liked by God. Understanding the need of workers is also very important. Ramzan reminds one that in business and money transactions, what is handled is the wealth of the real owner. Only when one realises the difficulties and sufferings of others does success come.
It is not necessary that one should follow one particular religion to give for charity. Ramzan teaches that everything is the creation of God. Ramzan also trains practitioners to be more kind and sincere and continue to be so throughout the year.
Holy Quran was introduced in the month of Ramzan. It pardons sinners and enables them to secure the benevolence of God (2:185). The message Ramzan offers to merchants, like all others, is the importance of charity. The charities done in other months give only half the benefit, compared to those in the month of Ramzan.
The capital of each and every merchant should be an accumulation of true and selfless earnings. ‘‘Don’t cheat either in measurement or weight. Don’t hoard things unnecessarily,’’ says the Gospel of Babi - Buhari.
