Newspapers are here to stay, despite TV

Newspaper is an important object of modern civilization. It is the most common record of current events. The news given in the newspaper is the opinion of the public. Various articles, from events to current affairs, entertainment, business and even the weather is published in newspapers. Most everybody picks up a newspaper if they want to know a detailed analysis of any national, international and/or state news. Having been the mode and means of getting to know news years before news channels and the internet, it still has a very strong readership base.Newspapers are read by the rich and poor, learned and illiterate (most probably by getting some one to read it), high and low, master and slave. This is because it deals with all our interests and keeps us informed of many important things. Newspapers are published in a variety of languages like Hindi, Telugu, English, Urdu, Kannada, Bengali and many others. The most important function of newspapers is it brings the news of the world. It also helps people know about their rights, duties as well as their civic responsibilities. They comment on current events and criticize or appreciate the conduct of government. Newspapers educate people’s minds and enable them to have their own opinion. They are also an important means of advertisement. They help both the employees and employers through their wants column. Be it matrimony ads, service providers, furniture, real estate, employment opportunities, they are all advertised first in the newspaper.People are also informed about new inventions that will change the way we live. Scientific experiments, discoveries and advancements, military operations and so on are all covered by newspapers.Thus reading the newspaper is a very important habit that must be cultivated in every child, student and adult.
