New Delhi: Mumbai?s crime controllers are fast becoming crime perpetrators in what is being seen as the Mumbai police force's darkest hour.
Barely 24 hours after CV Pawar, Head Constable with the Mumbai police, was charged with raping a minor girl near Sahar Airport, another policeman raped a bar girl in Navi Mumbai.
Constable Hamid Kazi in Navi Mumbai, has been charged with raping an 18-year-old bar dancer.
Chaos reigned at the Nerul police station on Tuesday night as a second complaint of police rape came to light.
The bar dancer alleged that the constable raped her twice after threatening to report her as an illegal Bangladeshi immigrant
?Kazi roughed me up. He told my sister-in-law and myself to leave the house and then stripped and sexually assaulted my wife,? said the girl's husband, Aminoor Gazi.
He also accused Constable Kazi of attempting to extort money from them.
DCP Navi Mumbai, Kishore Jadav said that a case has been registered against the accused and investigations are on.
The role of another person in this rape is being suspected, but so far the police have no clue about his whereabouts.
This is the sixth incident of rape by police personnel in Mumbai this year.
Earlier this year constable Sunil More was dismissed from service for raping a college student at the Marine Drive police chowki.
