New Delhi: Roger Federer has continued his sublime run at the Wimbledon with a straight sets win over Juan Martin Del Potro of Argentina on Thursday.
The World No. 1, who had to resume his match on court number one after a rain delay on Wednesday, didn't take long to pack off his 56th ranked opponent 6-2, 7-5, 6-1.
Roger Federer needed just 10 minutes on Thursday to finish his rain-interrupted second round match.
Federer has now set up a mouth-watering third round clash against Russian Marat Safin, who also won in straight sets over Pakistan's Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi.
Former World No 1 Safin broke immediately in the second set to establish a 3-1 lead, snatching another break in the seventh game.
Qureshi, ranked 279 in the world and backed by a vocal Pakistani contingent, pushed Safin hard in the third but the Russian eventually clinched the tiebreak 7-4.
