BANGALORE: Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda expressed his displeasure at police officers who act like ‘followers’ of politicians and warned them that he would not tolerate such behaviour and would deal with them with an iron hand.Speaking at the Karnataka State Senior Police Officers’ annual meeting held here on Monday, the CM said he had noticed some police officers coming with politicians to seek transfers. “I plan to prepare a list of such officers who number more than 500. If the officers do not change their attitude, I will take action against them,” Gowda warned. He asked the officers not to yield to political compulsions. “Only if their requests are just, listen to them. If they ask for something beyond the law, tell them clearly you can’t do it. The government will definitely support such officers,” he said.
