Bannerghatta Biological Park, a zoological garden in the Bannerghatta National Park in Bengaluru has welcomed a baby elephant in its shelter. A zoo animal has given birth to a baby. The new member is attracting the attention of the tourists at the Bannerghatta Biological Park. A 9-year-old female elephant called Rita has given birth to a baby for the first time. Doctors and staff are taking care of the newborn. According to the reports, the number of elephants has increased in the park after the birth.
There were 26 elephants in the Bannerghatta Biological Park so far. Now with the latest addition, the number of elephants has increased to 27. Along with the herd of elephants, the newborn is seen running wildly and is loved by its peers. The baby elephant’s small steps attract the attention of the tourists. The fun games of the newborn with her parents are a heartwarming sight to watch.
Apart from the birth of a newborn, the Bannerghatta National Park is also garnering headlines for commencing South India’s first Cheetah Safari in Bengaluru. It will be a thrilling experience which can be enjoyed on a low budget. After the tiger, lion and bear safari, the leopard safari has started in Bannerghatta. This is the largest leopard safari in the country and is also hailed as the first leopard safari in South India.
In this, you can watch leopards ride in the Koti Kraal, which is like an iron box, and Bannerghatta Road has paved the way for tourists to see the speedy Sardars. Forest Minister Ishwara Khandre has launched Leopard Safari in Bannerghatta Park.
Currently, 8 cheetahs are reportedly released for safari in the open forest area. The Leopard Safari area is dotted with natural cliffs and semi-deciduous forests. This is the largest leopard safari in the country, which has been built for Rs 4.5 crore. The security has been provided by installing a chain link net with a height of 4.5 meters. 1.5 meter-high MS sheets have been installed and security has been provided to prevent the leopard from jumping out on the 30-degree angle slope.
