Another vehicle for Palliative Care

KOCHI: A vehicle for treating patients registered with the Palliative Care Unit of Ernakulam General Hospital was flagged off on Tuesday.The vehicle was bought with the MP funds of Charles Dias for Rs 2.5 lakh. Earlier the unit had only one vehicle.Charles Dias said if needed one more vehicle can be donated. About 926 patients are registered with the unit in the corporation limits. The patients are visited at their homes five days a week.Additional DMO Dr Safiya Beevi K A presided over the function.Superintendent Dr M I Junaid Rehman, Deputy Superintendent Dr Katherine Sudhir Peter, Palliative care medical officer Dr Mathews Numbeli were present.
