Another grenade attack in Srinagar
A day after wreaking havoc in J&K, the Jaish-e-Mohammad militant outfit carried out another grenade attack on a security force vehicle.

Srinagar: A day after wreaking havoc in the city through a series of blasts that left five dead and 35 injured, the Jaish-e-Mohammad militant outfit on Saturday made an abortive grenade attack on a security force vehicle.

The militants hurled a grenade on a moving vehicle of the security forces near Dastageer Sahib shrine at Khanyar locality.

However, the explosive landed on the roadside without causing any damage.

Police officials, meanwhile, have denied that any grenade was thrown at a vehicle.

Instead, they are saying that an electric transformer burst with a loud bang in the locality.

The Jaish-e-Mohammad has again claimed responsibility for the attack.

A caller identifying himself as spokesman of the Jaish-e-Mohammad, Abu Qudama, told a local news agency that the target of the attack was an MLA who was passing through the area.

However, Qudama did not name the MLA.

What's your reaction?
