The T20 World Cup 2024 will see India and Pakistan renewing their rivalry as the two teams are slated to lock horns on June 9 in New York. The last time these two rivals clash in a T20 World Cup, it was an instant classic with Virat Kohli playing one of the greatest innings in the format’s history.
T20 World Cup will be co-hosted by USA and the Caribbean islands from June 1 onwards with the final slated for June 29th.
The anticipation around the India vs Pakistan Group A game is high but former IPL commissioner Lalit Modi has put up a big question mark over ICC’s intent of promoting the game in USA.

Modi claims that tickets for the marquee clash to be held at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York are being sold for as high as “$20,000” (Rs 16,65,138) per seat (Diamond Club) which he feels reveals ICC’s intention to prioritse profits over promotion of the game.
As per the ICC, tickets for the contest are available from as low as $300 (sold out) to as high $10,000.

This comes days after a report in USA Today claimed that the tickets for the India vs Pakistan match were being sold for double the original asking price with claims that the price have touched Rs 1 crore in the resale market.
India will kickstart their world cup campaign on June 5 against Ireland in New York before taking on Pakistan at the same venue. They will next face hosts USA before ending their Group A campaign against Canada.
