New Delhi: India's Comptroller and Auditor General Vinod Rai and former Director General RP Singh are expected to depose separately before the Joint Parliamentary Committee in connection with the 2G spectrum scam on Monday.

This is likely to happen keeping in mind the objections raised by the UPA over the role of the CAG earlier.

The JPC is likely to seek an explanation from both officials about the discrepancies in the financial estimates of the loss incurred in the 2G case.

They are also expected to explain who took the final call while preparing the final 2G audit.

RP Singh, former Director General of Audit (Post and Telecommunications), was the lead auditor in 2G spectrum allocation and had reportedly disputed the loss figure of Rs 1.76 lakh crore. Singh had reportedly said the losses were to the tune of Rs 2,645 crore only.

CNN-IBN had earlier reported on how Singh had written to deputy CAG Rekha Gupta saying that he was being unfairly targeted by his superiors.
