Babar Azam-led Pakistan Cricket team landed in India on September 27, setting the stage for the ICC World Cup 2023. This marks the first time in seven years that Pakistan’s men’s cricket squad has graced the Indian shores, as India hosts the World Cup this year. Upon their arrival at Hyderabad, the team was greeted with a heartwarming reception at the airport. Enthusiastic crowds, held back by security personnel, erupted in cheers and chanted the name of their team captain, Babar Azam, as well as other star players. This unexpected and warm reception not only delighted the cricketers, who took to social media to express their gratitude but also filled Pakistan cricket fans with the same excitement.

On the micro-blogging platform ‘X,’ comments flooded in from the neighbouring country, expressing their joy and rallying behind their team. One Pakistani cricket fan expressed, “Omg didn’t expect this number of people to show up at the airport, THANKYOU HYDERABAD.”

A third user extended their gratitude, saying, “Thanks to Indians for a warm welcome of Pakistan Cricket Team. That was totally unexpected & so mesmerising.”

In the meantime, ahead of their arrival, Pakistan’s ‘Men in Green’ Captain, Babar, emphasized that their primary focus is on the World Cup itself, not just securing a top-four finish. Before the World Cup commences, Pakistan is set to play a warm-up match against New Zealand, scheduled for September 29 in Hyderabad, with the match closed to the public.
