The CIES Football Observatory has revealed the fifty most valuable footballers in the world. The list does include a few shockers with the top five comprising three Real Madrid players. According to their data, Jude Bellingham is the most expensive player in the world with a valuation of a whopping €267.5 million. He is followed closely behind by Manchester City’s treble-winning forward Erling Haaland who has been valued at €251.2 million. Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior comes in at third with a valuation of €250.3 million. The most shocking factor about this list is that Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe sits in the 27th spot, being valued at a mere €106.2 million.
What also may come as a surprise to several football fans is that this list does not feature the likes of Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo. In 2023, Messi bagged his record-eighth Ballon d’Or trophy while Ronaldo finished the calendar year as the top goalscorer in the world. However, it seems like the duo’s performances were not enough to earn them a place in this illustrious CIES list.
