New Delhi: The Daily Mail claims that Bayern Munich are close to completing a €17.5 million deal for Jose Bosingwa, and Uli Hoeness has confirmed that the Chelsea wing-back is very much on the Germans' radar.
Now without the retired Willy Sagnol, Die Roten have singled out the Blues' Congolese-born star to fill the void - and Hoeness has claimed that the Londoners are ready to enter negotiations.
"We need a strong, experienced defender on the right side, especially if we use (Franck) Ribery in a more offensive role, as is being considered," said the Bavarian club's general manager, according to the tabloid.
"We want only Bosingwa and have no interest in any other player for this position. Chelsea agreed to give us a signal after the Community Shield that they were ready to talk and we are waiting for contact from them."
It was reported earlier this week that Roman Abramovich had flown to Germany to make an offer of around €47m for a certain French superstar, but Hoeness has dismissed such suggestions.
He said, "What does he (the Chelsea owner) expect for that - Ribery's right leg? Seriously, we stopped talking about Franck leaving a month ago because it isn't going to happen."
