The Directorate of Government Exams Tamil Nadu (TNDGE) had declared the Class 12 board results 2024 today, May 6. This year the TNDGE conducted the Class 12 board exams from March 1 to March 22. This year’s results show that the overall pass percentage for class 12 students was 94.56 per cent, a slight high from last year. This indicates that out of the 7,60,606 applicants who took the HSC + 2 exam, 7,19,196 passed. Girls once again surpassed boys, with a pass percentage of 96.44 per cent versus boys’ overall pass rate of 92.37 per cent.
Students can check and download their scorecards from the official website of TNDGE at tnresults.nic.in and dge.tn.gov.in by entering their Roll Number and Date of Birth (D.O.B).

This year, Kanyakumari emerged as the best-performing district, with a pass rate of 95.72 per cent. Notably, all students from 2478 schools passed the class 12 board exam 2024, yielding a perfect score for those institutions. These include 397 government schools.
According to this year’s statistics, 96.35 per cent of students cleared the class 12 exam from the science stream, 92.46 per cent passed the class 12 exams in commerce, and 85.67 per cent passed form the arts stream exam.
The candidates can also check their results via SMS service or DigiLocker. All the students are also advised to keep an eye on the board’s official website and social media handles for any further announcements regarding re-evaluation and supplementary exams.
How to check the TN HSC 12th Results 2024 online?
Step 1: Visit the official website of the Directorate of Government Exams Tamil Nadu at dge.tn.gov.in.
Step 2: On the homepage, look out for the Class 12th Result 2024 or something similar and click on it.
Step 3: You will be redirected to a new window asking for your Login credentials i.e. your Roll Number and Date of Birth. Fill in the information carefully.
Step 4: Your TNDGE Class 12th final result will appear on the screen.
Step 5: Download your result and take a printout of it on an A4 Size sheet paper for future reference.
In order to pass the Class 12 exams all the students need to score a minimum of 35 marks out of 100 in each subject. All the candidates who are unsatisfied with their results or have inquiries about the marks in any subjects can apply for re-evaluation of their answer sheets once the final results are declared on dge.tn.gov.in.
In 2023, the board declared the Class 12 result on May 8 and the overall passing percentage stood at 94.03 percent.
