Shweta Singh Kirti Shares Moving Note On Sushant Singh Rajput's Birth Anniversary
Shweta recounted her parents' strong desire for a second son following the loss of their firstborn.

Sushant Singh Rajput’s elder sister, Shweta Singh Kirti, commemorated what would have been his 38th birthday on Instagram, sharing heartfelt memories and insights from her newly published book, Pain: A Portal to Enlightenment. In a detailed tribute, she recounted her parents’ strong desire for a second son following the loss of their firstborn. Describing their dedicated prayers and rituals to Bhagwati Maa over two years, Shweta, born on Diwali, noted her mother’s optimism, calling her Lakshmi-ji. After their continuous efforts, Sushant entered their lives a year later, earning the endearing nickname ‘Pithiya.’

“My family members have often told me that Mom and Dad wanted a son, more so because Mumma’s first child had been a son and she had lost him at a very young age. Mom and Dad were very hopeful for a second son. They took a sankalp (vow) and prayed to Bhagwati Maa (Hindu Goddess) for two years straight. They fasted, meditated, performed pujas, hawans (fire rituals), and went to spiritual places and met spiritual people,” she wrote.

“They continued with their sadhna (practice) and kept praying for a son, and a year later, my little brother was born. Right from the beginning, he was a charmer, mesmerising everyone with his beautiful smile and twinkling eyes. So, this little one was my ‘Pithiya’,” she adds.

Shweta’s book delves into the inseparable bond between the siblings, fondly called ‘Gudia-Gulshan’ by those around them, during their childhood. Shweta portrayed their shared experiences of play, study, and mischief in her book. She expressed a profound protectiveness toward Sushant, influenced by her mother’s belief that she played a pivotal role in his arrival.

An emotional incident from the book highlights Sushant’s sensitivity during their adolescence. After Shweta’s first period, their mother asked him to be gentle, leading Sushant to question the barriers between them. While disposing of a pad, Sushant asked, “What is it that you can’t share with me? I don’t like this barrier between us.” This incident, according to Shweta, reflected their profound closeness.

The narrative also touched on the emotional moment when Shweta, upon getting married, had to leave her brother behind. Recounting their tearful farewell, she acknowledged the heartbreak of the physical distance that would now separate them as she moved to the United States.

Sushant Singh Rajput was born on January 21, 1986, leaving behind a legacy that continues to be remembered by his sister and fans alike.
