A video of Novak Djokovic’s violin celebration for his daughter Tara at Wimbledon has now gone viral.

Novak Djokovic channelled his inner musician as he pulled off a special violin celebration at Wimbledon. The Serbian first performed it after beating Alexei Popyrin in the third round of the tournament. Having won his match against the Australian tennis player, Djokovic walked back into the middle of the Centre Court, drawing cheers from the spectators. The Serbian great then raised his racket and put it up on his shoulders. He then pretended to play the violin. Djokovic later explained the celebration to the media, claiming it was dedicated to his daughter. “That was for Tara. My daughter has been playing violin for some time already, six months, and we agreed I would celebrate that way,” Djokovic said as per multiple reports.

Novak Djokovic once again performed the same celebration during his Wimbledon match yesterday. After beating Denmark’s Holger Rune 6-3, 6-4, 6-2, the Serbian repeated the same celebration style in the middle of the Centre Court. Djokovic’s wife was spotted holding their daughter in the stands. Both of them could not stop smiling at Djokovic’s gesture. The official handle of Wimbledon also shared a video of the celebration on X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, “A special celebration: Novak Djokovic dedicating his victory to daughter Tara.”

Touched by Novak Djokovic’s lovable bond with his daughter, several social media users flocked to the comments section to commend the seven-time Wimbledon champion. One of them wrote, “Good daddy – now keep winning”. Another social media user hailed the Serbian as one of the all-time greats. “Novak Djokovic! One of the greatest players of all time. What an illustrious career he had,” read the response. One said, “Beautiful! For his lovely daughter! Congratulations! Greatest tennis player ever and a wonderful family man! Well done!”

“She looks exactly like Novak and that cute celebration between them,” read another reply. One person wrote, “It’s always heartening to see the bond between a father and daughter.”

Novak Djokovic headed into the tournament as the world’s second-best men’s tennis player in singles as per the ATP rankings. He is currently eyeing a second successive final at Wimbledon 2024. Djokovic was beaten by Carlos Alcaraz in the ultimate game at the Wimbledon last year. Djokovic has so far won 24 grand slam titles. He will now be looking to match Swiss maestro Roger Federer for the most Wimbledon men’s singles title. Djokovic will next take on Australia’s Alex de Minaur in the quarter-finals of Wimbledon.
