Begusarai Farmer, Ploughing His Field, Finds Lord Shiva Statue; Villagers Plan To Make Shrine
A stir erupted in the village when news broke that a statue of Lord Shiva was found in a field while ploughing.

Few days ago, in Deoghar, Jharkhand, a statue of Lord Shiva appeared, while he was looking after his cows. Likewise, in Begusarai, Bihar, a similar situation was unearthed where Lalu Yadav came across a statue of Lord Shiva while tending to his goats and working in the fields with a spade.

A stir erupted in the village when news broke that a statue of Lord Shiva was found in a field while ploughing. Since then, folks from nearby areas have been rushing in large numbers to catch a glimpse of the idol. Villagers from different places started arriving as soon as they heard about it. Some think it’s the Narmadeshwar Shivling, while others are comparing it to Amarnath Dham. Moreover, after the idol was taken out, people started sharing their own beliefs.

The incident took place in Meghaul Panchayat, a part of the Khodavandpur block, approximately 40 km from Begusarai district headquarters. Murari Kumar, residing in the same village, revealed that Lalu Yadav, another villager, stumbled upon the Shivling while working in the fields.

When he made the discovery, Lalu Yadav was occupied with harvesting and tending to goats in Vashishtha Sharma’s field. Usha Devi, who had come for worship, shared with Local18 that she unexpectedly found Lord Shiva while digging the soil with a spade. Those who touched the idol found it unusually heavy, sensing a divine presence. Villagers also believe the statue appears very ancient.

In an interview with Local 18, Vashishtha Sharma, the landowner, has generously donated the land in the name of Lord Shiva. Villagers are rallying together to collect donations and initiate the construction of a temple on the site. Residents also report that since the appearance of Lord Shiva, people from nearby villages have been visiting to offer prayers.

Some time back, a white shivling, representing Lord Shiva in Hindu tradition, faced challenges in finding a permanent home in North 24 Parganas, West Bengal. Despite the presence of priests, locals, and devotees from the region who came to worship it, no one was willing to take it home.

As per local sources, two children from the area discovered this shivling while bathing in Gobardanga’s Kankana pond during Chaitra. Due to restrictions, the Shiva idol cannot be housed in any local homes or temples. Consequently, the locals have resolved to construct a temple at the site to provide a permanent sanctuary for White Shiva.
