When an uninvited alligator made an unexpected appearance in the home of a 104-year-old woman near Atlantic Boulevard and Art Museum Drive in Florida, panic ensued. Without wasting any time, she promptly dialed the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office to report the animal’s presence on her property.
The two cops, Officer Kopp and Johnson, arrived on the scene to tackle the situation. The officers humorously dubbed the incident as having “quite the tail” to tell. In a lighthearted moment captured on the video, one of the officers handling the alligator jokes, “we can’t cuff him.” Adding to the jest, the cop playfully instructed the alligator, “You are under-arrest. You gotta leave grandma alone. We are taking you downtown.”
With the assistance of licensed trapper Mike Dragich, they worked together to safely capture the reptile. Fortunately, the 5-foot long alligator was unharmed and relocated to a safer habitat.
The video was shared on Instagram by Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office with the caption, “We can’t cuff him.” Officer Kopp and Johnson have quite the “tail” to tell about responding to a nuisance at 104-year-old woman’s home near Atlantic Boulevard and Art Museum Drive Monday. Licensed trapper Mike Dragich was chomping at the bit to snap into action and help the grandma say “see you later, alligator.” Before your jaw drops, the trapper says the 5-foot catch of the day is alive and well in a different location. All in a day’s work.”
