New Delhi: As Xiaomi gears up for its 'global Mi phone premiere' event on April 23, the series of leaks have just started with specs of the Chinese manufacturer's next handset published on a website.

Xiaomi had sent out invites for its global event that will be attended by Xiaomi CEO and founder, Lei Jun; president and co-founder Bin Lin and VP International, Hugo Barra. The invite teased, "i is coming," pointing to the next device being possibly dubbed Mi 4i.

A post on MyDrivers notes that the details about Xiaomi's next flagship device have been listed both on the Singapore IDA database and GeekBench and point to the Mi 4i sporting a 1.65GHz Snapdragon 615 octa-core 64-bit processor, 2GB of RAM, and run on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop out-of-the-box.

The specs are similar to the earlier speculated 'Ferrari' smartphone. However, the Xiaomi Mi 4i could be a variant of the Mi 4 that boasts of 4.9-inch full HD display.

Xiaomi seems to be getting aggressive in the country that it had entered in July last year. The company had been selling its devices online exclusively on Flipkart until April 8 when it announced its partnership with two new e-commerce platforms Snapdeal and Amazon.

To reach out to more consumers Xiaomi has also ventured into brick and mortar stores by partnering with retail chain The Mobile Store. It has also entered into a partnership with private telecom operator Bharti Airtel.
