KOLLAM: The two Italian Marines, Latorre Massimiliano and Salvatore Girone, who are accused in the murder of the two fishermen, are ‘fine’ under custody of Kerala Police.The marines replied that they are ‘bene’ (fine), when an Italian journalist posed the question ’Come va’ (How are you?) outside the First Class Judicial Magistrate Court here on Thursday. Indeed the marines looked comfortable, unlike on Monday, when they looked pale and were seemingly disturbed when they were produced before the Judicial Magistrate at Karunagappally, amidst hate slogans and protests by youth wings of various political parties.The police had taken adequate measures on Thursday to avoid any protests or demonstrations before the court, located in the Kollam Civil Station Complex. Around 150 police personnel were deployed in and around the complex.The public were not allowed at the complex which houses several district courts and government offices, including the Collectorate, after 3 30 pm. Only press persons and employees of the various offices were allowed to enter the complex.The marines were brought at 4 15 pm and were taken back at around 5 15 pm.
