WhatsApp groups are perhaps one of the most buzzing closed social networks. The 50-member limit was upped to 100 in November 2014 and now the Facebook-owned instant messaging service has more than doubled the limit to 256.
This is however yet to be available to all WhatsApp users and quite like many other features, this is being added to the version of the Android app that can be downloaded directly from its website.
Only a few days ago WhatsApp announced that it has more than a billion users.
In January this year, it did away with its $1 token annual subscription fee.
Facebook had acquired WhatsApp for $22 billion in 2014.
