Twitter users can expect to see hearts showing up on the network as of Tuesday, as the company has announced that its star icon for "favourites" has been replaced by a heart icon for "likes."
"You might like a lot of things, but not everything can be your favourite," said Twitter product manager Akarshan Kumar by way of explanation.
"The heart is more expressive, enabling you to convey a range of emotions and easily connect with people."
Hearts are used on Periscope, he points out, and will now be found on both Twitter and Vine.
They'll be visible starting Tuesday on Twitter for iOS and Android, twitter.com, TweetDeck, Twitter for Windows 10, and the Vine Android app and website.
They'll soon arrive on Vine for iOS and Twitter for Mac.
