Salaar: Shruti Haasan Opens Up On Violence In Prabhas Starrer, Says 'Some People Are Triggered...'
Salaar actress Shruti Haasan says that what is triggering or not may differ from viewer to viewer.

Even though Salaar is getting immense love from the audience, the film is also being criticised by a few for its excessive violence. In a recent interview, Shruti Haasan also opened up about violence in the Prashanth Neel directorial when she argued that a film’s teaser was a disclaimer for the audience. Shruti played the role of Aadya in Prabhas starrer.

“I feel that cinema and music, there are different kinds of TV shows, different kinds of books, some depict violence, some don’t. Yes, I am a mental health advocate and the biggest thing I would advocate for is knowing what you are watching,” she told Indian Express.

Shruti Haasan further argued that what is triggering or not may differ from viewer to viewer. “A teaser for a film is like a disclaimer of content. It’s to know whether you are ready to watch that content. That discretion has to lie with the viewer and that does fall under the ability to judge one’s own mental state of mind. Some people enjoy fast-paced action or thrillers, some people are triggered by emotional drama. So, it’s really up to the viewer’s discretion,” the actress added.

Released on December 22, Hombale Films’ Salaar: Part 1: Ceasefire stars Prabhas along with Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, and Jagapathi Babu in key roles. Made under the direction of Prashanth Neel, the film is produced by Vijay Kiragandur. Salaar has a duration of 2 hours and 55 minutes and was given an ‘A’ certificate by the censor board.

Salaar has become the biggest blockbuster of the year. As reported by Sacnilk, early estimates suggest that the film earned Rs 95 crore in India on its opening day across all languages.

News18 Showsha’s review of Salaar reads, “Salaar is only for Prabhas fans and for those who feel an assault on the senses is a form of cinema. But if you love your eardrums and have had your fill of the super-heroic exploits of an underdog-turned-top dog hero, you can give this film a probable miss.”
