Jr NTR, whose popularity had been restricted to the Telugu-speaking diaspora up until 2022, became a pan-India star after SS Rajamouli’s RRR. The film brought him international recognition. The movie was praised unanimously in the West, once it started streaming on Netflix. Jr NTR will soon be back to enthral the masses once again with an action packed masala film named Devara, which will probably see him in his massiest avatar till date. We emphasise on the term ‘masses’ because that is what the actor has decided to relate his image with. In the first look of the film released a day back, keen observers can notice a change in the actor’s tagline. Jr NTR has always been referred to as Young Tiger in the Telugu film industry and all his movies billed his name with the tagline ‘Young Tiger NTR’. In the first glimpse of Devara, he is billed as ‘Man of Masses NTR’. This change in tagline appears to be a result of his newfound fame after RRR.
It appears from the promo that the glimpses are not a part of Devara, but has been filmed specifically to establish the mood of the movie; and it accomplishes it effectively. The movie has been in the news for having a massive budget and each scene radiates clues of its high production value.
Boats sailing towards a coast are shown in the opening images of the video. The hero confronts the goons as the boats approach the shore and they land, causing them to bleed and turning the sea scarlet. Like his previous musical compositions like Master, Vikram and Leo, Anirudh Ravichander has composed an English number for Devara which is featured in the promo extensively.
Devara marks the Telugu debut of Janhvi Kapoor. Prakash Raj, Srikanth Meka, Tom Shine Chacko, and Narain are among the other actors who feature in the movie. Devara is presented by Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, while it is produced under the banner of NTR Arts and Yuvasudha Arts.
