Mahesh Babu is currently enjoying the success of his recently released movie, Guntur Kaaram. In a recent interview, the actor opened up about his smoking scene for the film and revealed he was initially given a real ‘beedi’. However, it got him migraine following which the beedi was replaced with ‘ayurvedic beedi’. Mahesh Babu clarified that there was no tobacco in it and added he does not encourage smoking.
“I don’t smoke and won’t encourage smoking as well. It was an ayurvedic beedi that was made of clove leaves. Initially, they gave me a real beedi, and I got migraine. I went and told Trivikram [Srinivas] and he was thinking about what to do. Then he researched and got me this ayurvedic beedi, which I found nice. It was made of clove leaves and had a mint flavour. There was no tobacco in it,” he said as quoted by Hindustan Times.
Released on January 12, Guntur Kaaram received mixed reviews from all. Besides Mahesh Babu, it also starred Sreeleela as the female protagonist. Notably, Guntur Kaaram marks the third collaboration between Mahesh Babu and director Trivikram Srinivas. Their previous ventures include Khaleja and Athadu. Guntur Kaaram has been performing well at the box office. The film has already crossed Rs 80 crore mark in India and Rs 160 crore worldwide.
Meanwhile, after Guntur Kaaram, Mahesh Babu will be collaborating with director SS Rajamouli for a movie which is tentatively titled SSMB29. After RRR, this will be Rajamouli’s next project. As per media reports, the Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone is being considered as the lead heroine of the movie. Rajamouli has already announced that the story will be an adventure thriller set in the backdrop of Africa. The movie will be made on a huge scale with the highest technical standards. The film is expected to be a pan-India movie.
