Chennai: DMK treasurer MK Stalin has offered to resign from all party posts following party's poor performance in the Lok Sabha elections.
Party secretary VP Duraisamy refused to comment on the issue. He added that there was pressure on Stalin to quit party posts.
Meanwhile, party workers held protest outside Stalin's residence urging him to withdraw his resignation.
DMK, in its worst performance ever, did not win even a single seat in the 16th Lok Sabha elections when arch rival J Jayalalithaa's AIADMK swept the LS polls by conquering 37 of the 39 seats in Tamil Nadu.
Stalin has conveyed his decision to quit party posts to father and party chief K Karunanidhi. Stalin's estranged brother Alagiri who was expelled from the party earlier this year has not yet commented on the party's poor performance.
