Ahmedabad: After delivering an emotional speech in Parliament, PM-elect Narendra Modi headed to Ahmedabad to bid goodbye to Maninagar, his assembly constituency.
Addressing the constituency which he has represented for over a decade, Modi said, "In 2012 you elected me to serve you till 2017. But when I came in 2012 only you were saying PM PM PM & that time I said CM CM."
Modi had received a grand welcome at the Ahmedabad airport earlier in the day where he was accompanied by his aide Amit Shah. He had then said that the people of Gujarat and party workers would have "first right" over him as he is a primary member of the party from Gujarat.
As Modi led the BJP to a historic victory and made his way to Parliament, he bid farewell to Maninagar saying, "I am here to say good bye to you and seek your blessings."
