The drama is set to take viewers on a journey back to the Joseon Dynasty, where the lives and romantic adventures of young interns at Yongcheonlu, the grand inn in Joseon, take place.

Actors Bae In Hyuk, Kim Ji Eun, Jung Gun Joo, and DKZ’s Jaechan are all set to grace the screens in Channel A’s upcoming historical romance drama, titled Check In Hanyang (working title). The drama is set to take viewers on a journey back to the Joseon Dynasty, where the lives and romantic adventures of young interns at Yongcheonlu, the grand inn in Joseon, take place. Bae In Hyuk’s character, Prince Lee Eun, is a man with a mission. Disguised as Lee Eun Ho, he infiltrates Yongcheonlu, carrying with him a secret agenda. However, his royal upbringing proves hard to conceal as he struggles to adapt to the inn’s environment, often finding himself at odds with the strict instructor, Hong Deok Soo, portrayed by Kim Ji Eun.

Kim Ji Eun’s portrayal of Hong Deok Soo adds an intriguing layer to the drama. As the general manager of Yongcheonlu, Hong Deok Soo is a woman who dresses as a man. Her path unexpectedly intertwines with Lee Eun Ho’s, promising an intriguing dynamic as their relationship unfolds, reports Soompi.

Jung Gun Joo’s character, Cheon Joon Hwa, adds to the drama with his portrayal of Yongcheonlu’s heir. Blessed with both wealth and an elegant appearance, Cheon Joon Hwa has no interest in managing the inn. However, circumstances force him to intern at the inn, setting the stage for potential conflict and growth.

Finally, Jaechan reportedly takes on the role of Go Soo Ra, a character who is unapologetically himself. With dreams of reviving his family’s lost legacy, Go Soo Ra joins Yongcheonlu, unafraid to speak his mind. His candid nature sets him apart from the other characters, adding depth to the drama.

Check In Hanyang is scheduled for release in December 2024. Directed by Myung Hyun Woo, known for his work on The 3rd Hospital, and penned by Park Hyeon Jin.

The drama is expected to provide a fresh take on historical romance, offering viewers a glimpse into the lives of young individuals navigating love and life in a bygone era. It promises to be a compelling exploration of love, social hierarchy, politics, personal development, and overcoming challenges.
