Beggar Faking His Disability Beaten By An Elderly Man In Bhopal
The beggar initially leaves no stone unturned to conceal his lie and plead to the person not to treat him in this manner.

In the daily course of life, we see a lot of people homeless and begging every day for the basic civic amenities of their lives. Seeing their plight, we do try to help them but then there are cases when people fake disabled or any other ailment just to convince the others to provide them with alms. A similar case was reportedly seen in a residential colony of Bhopal where a beggar used to fake being a disabled person. An elderly person, however, managed to discover his lie. After that, they beat him with a viper. A video uploaded on Instagram on March 27 shows the old man beating the beggar with a viper and asking him to stand up. The beggar initially leaves no stone unturned to conceal his lie and plead to the elderly person to not treat him like this. The latter, however, is in no mood to listen to him and keeps hitting him with a viper, especially at his legs. After telling him repeatedly to stand up, the beggar finally stands and shows a wound on his leg to the elderly man. The aged man shows no interest in looking at his wounds and asks that person to leave the spot immediately. He walks away from the locality while limping on the leg where he has suffered the wound.

The video courted displeasure from some social media users who opined that the aged man should not have behaved with the beggar in such a harsh manner. Another commented that the person, though faking his disability should not have been humiliated publicly, especially in the Ramadan month. Ramadan is the ninth month in the Islamic calendar when Muslims globally fast during the hours of daylight every single day. Others, however, were much more forthcoming to the treatment meted out to the person begging and appreciated the elder person for dealing with him in the right.

Similar cases had emerged in Kenya as well where a disabled’ beggar, who also doubled as a thief, was nearly lynched by a mob along Koinange Street. She was caught red-handed attempting to steal a car’s side mirror.
