Jaitley new head of BJP's Election Management Cell

New Delhi: BJP General Secretary Arun Jaitley was on Thursday appointed as the head of party's Election Management Cell by President Rajnath Singh.

Jaitley would be assisted by several other high profile committees consisting of senior party leaders and professionals, including veteran journalist Swapan Dasgupta, Chartered Accountant S Gurumurthy, Murlidhar Rao, Balbir Punj and S S Ahluwalia, a BJP press release said.

Jaitley will also head the Policy Formulation Committee which consists of Punj, Bal Apte, former Organiser Editor Tarun Vijay, columnist Sudheendhra Kulkarni, Gurumurthy, Dasgupta and L K Advani's associate Deepak Chopra, it said.

As announced on Thursday, three leaders Ahluwalia, Punj and Siddharta Nath Singh will act as spokespersons along with Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Ravi Shankar Prasad and Prakash Javadekar.

The party website will be managed by Kulkarni while Ramakrishna and Brigadier Raj Bahadurall will see the matters related to the Election Commission.

Industrialist Piyush Goyal will be part of the Propoganda Committee, which will handle advertisements and Rao will co-ordinate with state units of the party.
