Ahmedabad: Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel on Saturday announced setting up of separate universities on skill development and public health in the state.
"Chief Minister Anandiben Patel today announced to set up a Skill Development University in Vadodara to train around one lakh youths every year in the state and reach out to the increasing demands of the industries," an official statement said.
"Patel has said the state is creating skilled human labourers in medicine and para-medicine. Gujarat will also set up a Public Health University to make people aware of their health and avoid any diseases," the statement added.
Patel made the announcement at the inauguration of a vocational training centre at Goraj village of Vaghodiya taluka of Vadodara district, it said.
The chief minister said the state government has inked pacts with big industrial houses, seeking their help for the small industries in the state.
