Kohli recently completed his 49th ODI century, and Amir hailed the former Indian batter on social media. The post seemingly irked a certain fan who asked Amir on a live show why he doesn’t congratulate Babar Azam.
“Birthday or hundred ek sath. Well done @imVkohli brother great inning. enjoy ur day may Allah bless you always,” wrote Amir on social media platform X after Kohli’s 101-run unbeaten knock against South Africa that helped India churn out a 234-run victory.

Amir said that Virat Kohli was his ‘favourite’ and that’s why he posted for the Indian batter, urging that the day Babar Azam would play a match-winning century, he would be the first one to congratulate the Pakistan captain.
“Kya aap Babar Azam ko king nahi maante? (Don’t you consider Babar Azam the king?),” the fan asked Amir.

“Mera favourite hai Virat, meri 2017 ki tweets nikal lo aap. Mera favourite has it’s as simple as that (Virat Kohli is my favourite, it’s as simple as that),” replied Amir.
The 31-year-old further pointed out that the entire nation congratulated Fakhar Zaman for his century against New Zealand, and he expected Babar to play a similar match-winning knock.
