Son of Sardaar 2 has created a lot of buzz even before it completed production. The makers got engaged in the major controversy following the removal of actor Vijay Raaz. Reportedly, Vijay stated that he was asked to leave because he didn’t greet Ajay Devgn on their first day. In contrast, producer Kumar Mangat cited Vijay Raaz’s unpleasant behaviour towards the team as the reason for his removal. Now, Sanjay Mishra has been roped to play Vijay Raaz’s character. The actor has opened up about his decision to take up the role.
Reflecting on taking up the film, Sanjay Mishra told Etimes, “I share a deep emotional bond with Ajay sir. When my brother passed away, he was there to support me. We’ve always been there for each other through thick and thin. Whenever he calls me for a film project, it’s not just any other project but more than that — it’s a testament to our friendship. Just a call from him is all it takes for me to be there, and he’s always there for me in the same way. That’s all I can say for now.”
Earlier, producer Kumar Mangat Pathak had confirmed Vijay Raaz’s removal. Talking to Pinkvilla, the producer stated that the actor demanded larger rooms, a vanity van, and overcharged the team for the spot boys. The shoot is ongoing in the UK and the makers mentioned that the production cost is quite high there. He added that while everyone received normal rooms throughout the production, Vijay Raaz insisted on luxury suites.
Kumar Mangat Pathak added, “When we tried explaining the costing scenario to him, he refused to understand, and spoke rudely. His constant response was, ‘Aap Logo Ne Mujhe Approach Kiya, Main Kaunsa Saamne Se Aya Kaam Mangne’.”
However, Vijay Raaz told Pinkvilla that he was removed because he did not greet Ajay Devgn on the sets on the first day. He said, “I was removed from the film 30 minutes after reaching the sets, as I didn’t greet Ajay Devgn. These are powerful people, and the chatter of misconduct doesn’t arise at all.”
Apart from Sanjay Mishra, Son of Sardaar 2 features an ensemble cast including Ravi Kishan, Mrunal Thakur, Chunky Pandey, Vindu Dara Singh, Deepak Dobriyal, Mukul Dev, Ashwini Kalsekar, Kubbra Sait, and Sanjay Dutt.
