'Manto' is an upcoming Pakistani biopic of Pakistani short-story writer Sadat Hassan Manto. Directed by Sarmad Sultan Khoosat, the film stars him in the title role alongside Sania Saeed, Saba Qamar, Mahira Khan and Shamoon Abbasi.
The film draws inspiration from few of Manto's most prominent works like 'Thanda Gosht', 'Madari' and 'Peshawar se Lahore Tak'. The film shows his entire struggle with alcoholism and the obstacles faced by him for the outrageous treatment of his stories. 'Manto' promises to be the story of a writer who didn't live up to the expectations of the world and family, instead devoted his entire life to his imaginations and stories.
The film is slated to be released on September 11.
